Head in the Sand
A new play inspired by the true story of Bayocean, Oregon is the launching pad for an examination of human nature, climate change, and the pursuit of the American Dream.
Head in the Sand
Conceived & Written by: Monica Hunken & Jonathan David Martin
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In 1912, Bayocean, Oregon was hailed as “The Atlantic City of the West” and “the playground of millionaires.” By 1952 most of the town had been washed away into the Pacific Ocean due to man-made changes to the tidal currents. The story of Bayocean and the people who lived there is the jumping off point for this new play about human nature, climate change, and the pursuit of the American Dream.
